How to Play

Your first day on Flevin, explained — from choosing a starter to crafting your own Poké Balls.

First Steps

1 · Choose your starter

Right after logging in, open the Pokémon menu and pick your starter — your first partner for the road ahead. Every classic starter line is available, so choose with your heart. Your level cap starts at 15, and your starter will carry you through the first trainer battles.

2 · Claim your starter kit

Every new trainer receives a starter kit with the essential tools of the trade: a Pokédex, a Trainer Card, a set of Poké Balls, and a Traveler's Backpack. Here's what each one does.

Your Starter Kit, Explained

The four tools you'll use every day — plus how to make more Poké Balls when you run out.

The Pokédex

Scan any Pokémon you find in the wilderness to learn its name, level, and basic info at a glance — the scan even tells you when a Pokémon belongs to another trainer. The Pokédex also keeps a register of every species you've encountered, so you can track your collection as it grows.

The Trainer Card

Your progression tracker. It shows the next required trainer you need to defeat — the name is blurred for a moment while it loads, then reveals itself. Click the trainer's name to see which biome they spawn in, and which item they prefer if you want to summon them with a pedestal. While you explore, the card also points an arrow toward your target.

Poké Balls

As simple as it looks: throw one at a wild Pokémon to try to catch it — either directly in the overworld or during a battle. Weakening a Pokémon in battle first dramatically improves your odds, and better ball types catch stronger Pokémon.

The Traveler's Backpack

A portable base camp on your back: it has a built-in bed so you can sleep anywhere, tanks for carrying liquids, a built-in crafting table, and plenty of extra storage for long expeditions.

Apricorns — grow your Poké Balls

You won't buy Poké Balls on Flevin — you grow them. Apricorns, the colorful berry-like fruits growing on trees all over the world, are the main ingredient: harvest them (they regrow), cook them, and combine them with copper and iron to craft every ball type. Planting a few apricorn trees near your base early pays off all game.
